Give & Take: Handcrafted Goods, In Time for the Holidays!
December 7, 2019 @ 3:00 PM - 5:00 PMFree
Trade hand-crafted goods with other crafters and makers!
This is an event hosted by the Seacoast NH Permaculture Group, co-sponsored by the Makerspace!
You can find their MeetUp page here: https://www.meetup.com/Seacoast-NH-Permaculture/events/263261738
Forget holiday shopping, let’s get holiday swapping!
We’ll focus on trading our own hand-crafted goods such as preserved foods, candles, soaps, herbal preparations, crocheted or knitted items, clothing you have sewn, jewelry, woodworking projects, quilts (although these are large items and you would want to be sure you got a fair trade) or anything else that you make yourself and want to trade for something new and different.
This is a great way to connect with other crafters and find some interesting and beautifully made items as unique holiday gifts.
Past examples of what people brought: jams, jellies, garlic, artwork, hand knit and crocheted clothing, jewelry, body scrubs, soaps, and cards.
You can also bring extra or unused supplies, books and equipment used to make crafts. For example, if you used to quilt but no longer do so you could bring fabric, books or cutting tools that you would like to swap for something else. Consider wool, yarn, soap or candle making supplies, tools, knitting needles, or beads. We also welcome items that don’t quite fit our handcrafts theme but would likely appeal to people in this group such as: eggs, seeds, gardening books, etc.
COST: suggested donation of $1-10 payable that day.
Please be on time so you won’t miss the introductions when everyone explains what they are offering. This is an important part of the process. No one goes home empty handed and everyone usually leaves with more than they came with, through some sort of swapping magic! The process takes about 90 minutes depending on the number of participants.
