Intro to Sewing

Learn basic hand & machine sewing skills & safety in this class! This is a great class for those looking to improve their fundamental knowledge on sewing and sewing machines. Participants will be able to thread machine & wind their own bobbin, as well as understand the different features of these machines, practice staying on the line and pivoting skills on paper.
Attendees will be able to make and take home samples of a variety of seams, seam finishes, & hems.
You are encouraged to bring your own sewing machine to learn on, but the Makerspace can supply one for you if you can’t bring one. Additionally feel free to bring any other notions or accessories you have like bobbins, thread, scrap fabric, shears, seam ripper, thimble, etc.
