Intro to Soldering – Build a Flashlight
April 18, 2019 @ 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Get your hands on a soldering iron and make something with electronics! Attendees will learn basic techniques for doing electronics soldering and how to use other associated tools. If you’ve never soldered before or could use a refresher on how to do it (or if you’re just looking for a fun class to take) this is the class for you.
There are two electronics kits that are provided for pratice in this class: a Learn to Solder Badge, and a super bright flashlight.
Each attendee will have a working light-up creation and another unique circuit built by the end of the class, as well as an understanding of how soldering works and the different applications for it.
After class is over, attendees are welcome to come back during one of our weekly Open Hack Nights to practice soldering on more kits we have available in our Electronics Lab.
We also generally do 5 different options from Sparkfun that we do each month:
- Weevil Eye Kit
- Simon Says Kit
- Larson Scanner Kit
- Electronic Dice Kit
- Super Bright Flashlight
Instructor: Alex Nunn
