Safety
- Eye protection: Shade 9-12 (depending on intensity of arc)
- Wear protective clothing: leather gloves, leather apron, cotton clothing. (no polyester/synthetics!)
- Clear the area of all flammables
- Avoid "blowback", which happens from either moving too fast or cutting in the middle of a workpiece rather than the edge
Tips
- It is easier to pull the torch through the cut than to push it.
- To cut thin material, reduce the amerage until you get the best quality cut.
