Safety

  • Cutting sparks can cause explosion or fire. Keep flammables away from cutting.
  • Electric shock from torch or wiring can kill. Turn off power before disassembling torch.
  • Breathing cutting fumes can be hazardous to your health.
  • Arc rays can burn eyes and injure skin. Wear hat and safety glasses. Use welding helmet with correct shade of filter.
  • Become trained and read the instructions before working on the machine or cutting.

Cutting Guide

Below are excerpts from the manual on cutting technique. For the most part the current should be set to 60 amps (the maximum), the operator controls how fast the torch travels across the material. There is a chart below that is intended for a "mechanized" torch, or settings that you would use if it was attached to a CNC machine. Use these charts for reference to get an idea of speed, or simply use trial and error to see what works best for your material.
