Guides and Manuals

General Tips and Safety

  • Ask before attempting to operate!
  • Max temp: 2300F (do not operate at this temperature or higher. it is an old kiln and high heat will wear it out faster)
  • The garage door should be partially open to ventilate any fumes
  • The EconoKiln can be operated in the Auto Shop using an extension cable

Setup Checklist

  • Safe Location - is the kiln at least 30 feet from any combustible items? Is it in a safe location where it will be undistrubed?
  • Inspect the kiln controls - do the switches turn on and off normally?
  • Inspect the heater coils and bricks - is everything intact?
  • When turning on - check the heat of the plug and cable. Is it too hot to touch?
