Alex Nunn

Alex is a lifelong learner and tinkerer. Growing up he helped his mom with her appliance repair shop out of the home, and grew to love working with all things electrical and mechanical. He first learned how to weld as a volunteer at the makerspace, and now he helps facilitate makers and artists learning all manner of new skills. When he’s not managing the makerspace, he’s tinkering on something or hanging out with his cat.

Charlie has been involved in the Machining trades and Design/Build business since 1972 and is passionate about upgrading the Machine Shop at PCMS.

Neil Rudnick

Metal Shop Manager

Neil enjoys tinkering with old motorcycles, golf, and learning new skills.

The community that Port City Makerspace serves is creative, diverse and talented. Neil values the sharing of ideas with the community, which always results in projects that are better than he could’ve imagined.

Neil teaches the Intro to Welding class and is constantly amazed at the quality of the projects his students go on to build.

Lee Miller

Textiles Lab Manager

Lee organizes all the equipment of the Textiles Lab, makes sure equipment is being maintained, and helps to organize classes related to textiles projects to get people excited about textiles and to bring new folks into the Makerspace. Lee is driven to do what he does at the Makerspace by the incredible opportunity to work with equipment and learn skills that would be incredibly hard to come by elsewhere. When not volunteering, Lee is working on sewing his own wardrobe and experimenting with varying compositions of cotton, hemp and linen fibers to make pants, t-shirts, jackets and accessories.
